Maharashtra is one of the developed state in India, it has a large industrial area so there is a large scope for Printing. At every Taluka place there is a need of printers. Hence there is always a demand for skilled workers & Operators. To meet this demand and to get jobs for 10th pass or fail students Maharashtra Institute of Printing Technology runs a small duration Certificate course (6 months) recognized by Vocational Board of Technical Education, Mumbai. Persons who have higher education but want to know about printing processes can also do this course. Similarly some employed peoples in printing Industry who required theoretical as well as proper technical knowledge can also join the course to overcome their lacuna.
In this course student get Introduction to various types of papers, various printing processes, pre and post press processing like D.T.P., plate making, web offset printing & binding. In more details they learn about single colour & multi colour offset machines, Problems occurring at the time of Print production and remedies, various parts of machine and there functioning, Basic knowledge about machine maintenance.
Intake for this course is 50 students. Yearly there are two batches which normally start at in the month of July and January.We have sufficient amount of Machines to conduct the Practical. Daily theory lectures are conducted. Apart from this we organize some press visits.
There is 100 marks theory & 200 Marks Practical Examination which will be conducted by Vocational Board.Documents required for this course are School Leaving Certificate and S.S.C. Mark sheet or equivalent (pass or fail). Admissions are given on first come first serve basis. Time to time there is modification in fees.
After completion of this course many people have got employment/self-employment and who were already working got promotion. There is always demand from our pass student who are now established successful printers, we recommend these student for them.
Mr. S.P. Baviskar along with Mr.R.L.Gabhale are looking after Theory & Practical where as Mrs. Nilurkar is doing other administration work for this course.
